. . . and your summer checklist

Dear Professional Colleagues:
Summer is indeed in full swing. For many, this is a time with different priorities, a different pace, and the challenge of new opportunities.
That is certainly the situation for Indiana AHPERD. As we prepare for the next school year, let me offer a short checklist of things you might find useful.

  • Check out your new INAHPERD web site with a new look and feel and new resources.
  • Review the 2017 State Conference agenda to see the robust line-up of keynotes, presentations, and activities. (Registration is now open).
  • Grab your "Get IN" T-Shirt.
  • Relax, laugh, and cheer one more time before the start of fall school. Bring your family and colleagues (membership not required) for an evening of summer fun at Victory Field on July 25th. Tickets are only $10/person. Order by July 7th. Tickets will be sent via mail. Questions: Contact Keith Buetow.

Tip of the day: Now - before the end of schools' fiscal calendar (typically July 1) - is a great time to find unused professional development funds to cover the cost of the state conference. Not sure how to get approval from your principal to attend the state conference? Download this justification letter template.
There's never been a better time to GetIN. Take a few minutes to check out the web site for new ways to get involved. Contact me and let's discuss how you can unlock your potential.
See you at Victory Field.
Heidi Stan
INAHPERD President

P.S. The lead picture was taken by INAHPERD members on the steps of the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. The bright shoes represent the bright future of the association as we celebrate the past century of service to the profession.
