Parent v Principal Perspectives

Active Schools has released a new report: The Movement Disparity: Parent and Principal Perspectives on Physical Activity in Schools. In two nationally representative surveys of parents and principals on physical education and physical activity in schools across the United States, they aim to gain a better understanding of the ways in which schools are, or are not, promoting childhood health and well-being.

Where H/PE Rates

National Title IV-A Survey

When asked to describe how school district leaders were prioritizing investment between the individual buckets of ESSA Title IV-A, student health and safety emerged as the top priority (65% of respondents indicating it was "extremely important"); followed by well-rounded education and education technology. Social/emotional learning is a growing priority too.

SEL in Action Grants

Up to $100,000/district

The grant goal is to help district and school communities create a convening that builds educators' and other adults' capacity to meet students' social, emotional and academic needs with an equity lens. Selected applicants will receive assistance during the design phase of their grant. Awardees will also have the opportunity to participate with a group of national SEL practitioners.
