Indiana Society for Health and Physical Educators

State Conference 2018

Early Bird Registration Ends Sept 1

INSHAPE is celebrating 101 years dedicated to the promotion of quality health, physical education, sport, dance, and fitness. The future is bright - INSHAPE has the enthusiasm of playful children, the inquisitiveness of adolescents, and the passion of aspiring adults.

The start of our second century is the foundation for realizing the full potential of health and physical education. The research has spoken. The evidence is in:

health. moves. minds.

The health and well-being of every Indiana child depends on quality health and physical education. Now, thanks to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the definition of a well-rounded education includes health and physical education. Schools can only achieve full academic potential when Health and Physical Education are weaved into the fabric of school culture and climate.

That doesn't happen by chance. That's where you come in. Perhaps you, more than anyone else in the building, touches on the combination of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains! Full academic potential requires you to advocate for quality, standards-based curricula. It requires you to discover and integrate best practices, new strategies, new programs, and innovative techniques.

To start, it requires you to get INSPIRED. Join us at Inspire '18 - November 4 - 6, 2018 at Grand Park in Westfield, IN. INSHAPE Inspire '18 is much more than a new destination. It is a whole new experience. There is no better place in Indiana for subject-specific professional development. Here's what you need to know:

  1. More than a 100 sessions offering an array of PGP options and featuring a record number of state, district and national Teachers of the Year.
  2. Brilliant organizations supporting quality health and physical education.
  3. Conference grants are available (apply).
  4. A justification letter to help obtain front office approval.
  5. A new brochure packed with all the details.
Now's the time to register. Early bird pricing ends September 1st. Contact me if you have questions.

I look forward to seeing you at Grand Park!
