Everything you need to know about Jump Rope for Heart / Hoops for Heart
|
Jump Rope For Heart (JRFH) and Hoops For Heart (HFH) are education and fundraising programs jointly sponsored by Indiana AHPERD and the American Heart Association.
We promote physical education and provide children with knowledge of heart disease and stroke while raising funds for cardiovascular disease research, stroke research, and health education. JRFH/HFH is a great opportunity to raise funds for life saving research and empower students to take charge of their health and physical wellbeing.
Every JRFH or HFH coordinator who conducts an event receives educational materials and lesson plans that focus on heart disease and stroke prevention, such as heart attack and stroke warning signs, the importance of physical activity, and an anti-tobacco message.
Teachers also receive jump ropes to use in their classrooms and have the opportunity to earn US GAMES certificates to purchase new physical education equipment for their programs.
Free INAHPERD memberships
Indiana teachers who participate in Jump Rope for Heart (JRFH) or Hoops for Heart (HFH) raising at least $1000 receive a complimentary one-year membership. Raise $2,000 for JRFH/HFH and receive a free SHAPE America Membership. JRFH/HFH coordinators are eligible to request funding for projects designed to enhance health, physical education, recreation, and/or dance.
