Are you still wondering what the new health.moves.minds. program is all about?

Hi! My name is Meg Hite. I teach physical education at Hamilton Heights Primary School in Arcadia, IN. As an INSHAPE board member and chair for INSHAPE joint projects, I'd like to share why I believe this new national program can be a game-changer for Indiana schools.

What is health.moves.minds™?
A national program that brings the lessons, activities, and community-building ideas that can help kids live their best lives. Developed by SHAPE America, resources are standards-based, tested by teachers, yet flexible enough to customize.

How can health.moves.minds™ benefit my school?
Across the country, today’s children and adolescents — at all grade levels — do not get enough physical activity, and are struggling with anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. Understanding these challenges, promoting an active school environment, and teaching children how to cope with stress, bullying, and societal pressures can make all the difference.

I've heard health.moves.minds. referred to as a service-learning program. What does that mean?
Students are encouraged to explore the importance of individual and community health and well-being. Understanding the needs of others and acting to help others is the heart of service-learning.

What does service-learning look like with health.moves.minds.?
Our fundraising platform allows you to select causes most important to your school and community. You decide how you want to raise funds and how they can best be used. Most importantly, there is nothing to sell.

How do I get started?
It's easy. There is no cost to register or participate. When you sign up, you get access to resources that allow you to run the education, fundraising, and celebrations that make health.moves.minds. so special.
