Opportunity: A "Better New Normal"

President John F. Kennedy, in Indianapolis on April 12, 1959 said, “The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word ‘crisis.’ One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity.”

Today's version: “Never allow a crisis to go to waste." Catchphrases aside, the point is that current events, however unexpected and unsettling, encourage us to learn from the moment to create a better tomorrow.

In "survival mode" it may be too early to consider future opportunities, new norms. However, the time between now and May 1st may be our collective 'gift' - an opportunity to discover our pivots to a better "new normal."
  • Will students discover the 'joy of movement?'
  • Will schools emphasize the whole child - mental, social, and physical health?
  • Will parents prioritize the importance of health literacy and physical literacy?
  • Will e-Learning inspire improvements in lessons, assessments, and outcomes for future school years?
What do you think? What's going on in your community. Tell us about the challenges and the opportunities. And, of course, tell us how INSHAPE can support you.
