Why are these teachers smiling? Simple . . .they did something great for their students. It's what teachers do. This group of health and physical educators gathered in Ft. Wayne this week for an INSHAPE PE Workshop investing in new lessons and best practices while energizing and encouraging each other.
"I am INSHAPE because there has never been a more exciting time now that health / physical education is part of a well-rounded education." ~ Dan Tennessen, Frederick Douglass School 19
Who wins? While these teachers bettered themselves, the 15,000+ Indiana students under their supervision are the ultimate winners.
"I am INSHAPE to be inspired by, learn from, and share with other passionate professionals on a common mission to make a difference in the lives of children." ~ Deb Torrance, Stonegate Elementary School
Student impact via professional development is just one of many benefits to an affiliation with INSHAPE. We envision a state where all Indiana children are prepared to lead healthy, physically active lives. INSHAPE is a voice of advocacy for quality health and physical education in the state of Indiana.
"I am INSHAPE because the strength of Indiana is found in our teachers who believe in our mission of active and healthy kids." ~ Donna Hazelett, Woodside Middle School
INSHAPE, in collaboration with Indiana colleges and universities, invests in the future of health and physical education. Through grants, scholarships, and leadership education, we support the next generation of Indiana educators.
"I am INSHAPE to prepare future teachers to "walk the talk" because physical activity is so valuable." ~ Diana Jones, Anderson University
